Welcome to the seventh class ,
Now it’s time to start working toward the woman you want to be…a woman who is capable of making magic everywhere she does.
When you become a magic maker, you will naturally bring more love, joy, playfulness, tranquility–all those qualities you came up with when you did your Glow Flow exercise–into every interaction.
When you think about it, it’s a pretty powerful position to be in. A maker of magic…a maker of love…a maker of whatever you heart desires.
The following exercise will help you determine what direction you wish to move toward.
The Importance Of the Gaps
When you answered the questions in the first few classes, it wasn’t so much about how you scored, but rather to answer honestly where you were at the moment you answered the questions.
Now, it’s time to decide what you would have liked to answered. If on any one question you answered say, a 7, now you can look at the question and realize that you would prefer to be able to honestly make your answer be a 9.
On another question, you might have answered a 5, but you were okay with that answer because it isn’t important to you.
Assignment #1
Now we come to the point of today’s class. What is the ‘GAP’ between how you answered and how you would like to have answered. In the above two examples, in the first, the gap would be 2. In the second, the gap would be 0.
How You Want To Be
Select a set of questions depending on which category is of highest priority for you. Then put the answer to what you would like the number to be in the second column. When you have completed a list, go through and tally up your gaps.
If you need to let go of the cares of the day, before you do this assignment, you might want to do a simple Relaxation Meditation. That way, you’ll be more present, and more connected to your Inner Wise Being.
You can listen to the basic Relaxation Meditation here, or if you’re now comfortable doing it on your own, simply sit quietly and relax your body, starting with your breathing, then focusing on the muscles throughout your body, starting with your toes and working up to the top of your head.
On a new sheet of paper, put your highest gaps at the top, then work down to lower gaps. A low gap means you are either happy with where you are on that question, or you don’t care about it. Either is fine. This is your assignment, and it’s all about you and what you want your life to be.
Take your time going through each of the categories, answering each question for what you would prefer the answer to be. Tally up all your gaps, making a separate list for each category, with your highest gap numbers at the top.
You may not be able to get this all done in one week. So take your time and give it the thought and focus it deserves. Remember, this is about you becoming the woman you know you can be.
Assignment #2
Prioritizing the Gaps
Now you have your list of gaps, according to Body, Mind, Spirit, and Soul. You’ve written out the questions, with the gaps for each. As you look at all the high-numbered gaps, you might be feeling overwhelmed if there are quite a few.
But take heart, because you are not expected to work on all at once.
The next thing to do is look at each list and determine the top three most important gaps you’d like to shrink. All three may be from the same list. This is about what you want, and what matters most to you.
If you’ve got health issues and you know they are impacting your happiness more than anything else going on in your life, then it’s very likely that your top three gaps will be in the Body category. That’s okay. Only you can be the judge of what is of the highest importance to you.
Assignment #3
Shrinking the Gaps
With the three most important gaps, make a plan for what you need to do in order to shrink the gap so it becomes a zero, or as close to zero as possible.
What steps do you need to take, what things need to change, what do you need to include in each day? If you’re not sure, is there an expert you can consult?
Maybe it has to do with finances. If so, find a finance expert. Or maybe it has to do with your connection to a higher power. Maybe you can join a meditation group.
If you’re not sure, you can write to me and I can maybe help you by giving you a different perspective, a ‘new set of eyes’ as they say.
If you have a friend, you can share what you’re doing and maybe even get them to do the assignments with you. Or form a mastermind group where several of you are supporting each other to shrink your gaps.
Whatever it takes, as long as you’re taking steps to become more of the woman you wish to be, then you’ll be moving in the right direction.
Most important, be gentle with yourself. Allow yourself the time it will take to achieve your desired results. Part of making magic is loving yourself.
